There are many famous mountains surrounding Barcelona that attract tourists. In Hamburg we met a girl from Barcelona that recommended one, 'The Bunker,' that is a local spot. It was literally an old military bunker. You could see all sides of the city because it is centrally located, and wasn't crowded at all. We brought lunch to the top, and had a beautiful few hours.

Barcelona, Spain
Girona, Spain
Girona is a smaller town north of Barcelona also in Cataluna. Josie's aunt and uncle live there and were able to show us around the city and its surroundings. Aside from being incredibly hospitable, they were great hosts because they knew spots we would not go to otherwise. They took us to incredible restaurants, the market, and the beach- and I was able to practice my Spanish.

Paris, France
We also added in Paris during our reroute. Although we were only there for a few hours of daylight, we were lucky in that Andrea studied there and knew the notable sites to hit quickly (including crepes and kebabs).
Luxembourg City, Luxembourg
During this time we were scheduled to travel to the Swiss Alps. However, the forecast called for snow so we rerouted. Luxembourg was incredibly scenic and we enjoyed hiking through the capital city. Josie also set off the fire alarm in our hostel, that was fun too.
Brugge, Belgium
Brugge is a quaint city outside of Brussels. We were lucky to travel there on a beautiful day after a few very cold cities!
